Educational Leadership 

Recognize individual strengths & the personal/shared values that inform decision-making & infuse teaching practice & school culture. Develop the capacity to build & manage effective collaborative teams & facilitate meaningful change.
 
 This course draws from National Equity Project's "Leadership from the Inside Out" philosophy and protocols. 

Instructional Leadership 

Learn & practice strategies for analyzing instruction, engaging in peer-to-peer observations, examining student work collaboratively & facilitating a growth-oriented professional teaching culture. Understand the role of student engagement in successful academic outcomes and strategies for aligning instruction with the current literature on student engagement.
 
This course draws from the Center for Educational Leadership’s Framework for Instructional Leadershi
p 5 Dimensions of Teaching & Learning Framework. 

Year 2

Data Leadership 

Understand & articulate problems of practice that can be meaningfully addressed by the strategic use of data. Identify relevant site-specific data that can inform a deeper understanding of complex educational challenges. Practice the collection, analysis, and reporting of relevant data to address challenges in participants’ own educational context to facilitate meaningful professional growth.  
 
This course draws from current Design Thinking and Improvement Science methodologies and emphasizes the complimentary role of quantitative & qualitative data in understanding complex educational challenges. 

Capstone Project

Develop a capstone project to address a complex problem of practice or educational challenge in the teacher leader’s educational context. Practice designing adult learning experiences & facilitating group dynamics. Collaboratively develop a pathway for applying skills and expertise in participant’s own education context with a school/district administrator.
